The New Mom Boss Podcast

123. Brain Connections And Bonding With Michelle Mintz, M.S., CCC-SLP

September 1, 2022

Welcome back to the New Mom Boss Podcast! We’re told that connecting with the baby in utero is important, but why exactly is that the case? Answering this question is my guest Michelle Mintz, a certified Speech Language Pathologist, an expert in early childhood development, and the founder of  Baby Blooming Moments™, a unique coaching experience designed to enhance the way we interact with babies and toddlers.

Michelle explains why pursuing brain connections with your baby is so important, during pregnancy and after delivery. We discuss topics like separation anxiety, how to tweak what you’re doing to enhance bonding, and even touch on the side-effects of the pandemic on “pandemic babies”.

 Some big takeaways are:

  1. Your baby becomes familiar with sounds while in the womb.
  2. Bonding creates a safe and secure environment.
  3. It’s never too late to start connecting more with your child.
